Been wanting the Voormie High E hoodie for a while as my mid layer but the Kuiu Peloton 240 hoodie has been getting some good reviews and I like my Kuiu stuff, so I'm 2nd guessing. Anyone have both??
This would be for mid Oct. Wyoming. I get COLD easy. I'll have a puffy or rain jacket in my pack to go over the hoodies.
240
Better in wind
poly / Lighter
$80 cheaper
Would be a relaxed fit as I wear a size small.
High E
wool / warmer
water repellent
looks like it would feel better on
Dont really want to buy both so any input would be much appreciated.

No experience with the voormi. The 240 is pretty warm since it blocks wind. I definitely noticed an increase in warmth when wearing it under my down jacket vs just a regular fleece. It’s cut like a shirt, not a jacket so don’t expect to wear it over your insulation. The thumb holes and athletic cut make it easy to layer underneath a jacket. I wasn’t a fan of the hood, a little stiff and coverage wasn’t enough around my cheeks or chin.

My large w/o hood is 13.1 oz. The large w/hood I had was 16oz.

Love my 240. If l had to pick one kuiu though l like my 200 better. Still blocks wind and quite a bit warmer. I run cold too that's why it's my pick.

I like the hooded 240 a bunch and have one in Vias and one in Verde 2. Good versatile warm piece. I take it on virtually every hunt from August to Oct in the north and all south hunts.

If you run cold look at the strong fleece 260. I have the 240 and 260, 260 is warmer while weighing less than the hooded 240 with the same wind resistance. That being said, you couldn’t go wrong with either.

So you think the 200 is warmer than the 240? I have also read the 200 is cut different than the 240, has a boxier cut and bell shaped around the waist. do you find that to be true?

The 200 is definitely thicker and warmer than the 240. I found that out by somebody and then called kuiu and they confirmed before I ordered. I make it super bad marketing cuz nobody would expect that from the numbers. The 240 reminds me of a wind fleece, grid, thin and not very stretchy. I do like a lot though. The 200 is altogether different. It's thicker, stretchier and maybe not as long off memory. The 200 really reminds me of that really nice thick polartec fleece. I didn't really feel like it was a boxy cut. I will say that kuiu stuff fits me really well and I have really wide shoulders and long arms for whatever that's worth.

I really don't know why more people don't run kuiu. I like it much better than Sitka and first light.

I like Peloton over Marino on general because it's insane how fast it dries.

I'm surprised to hear that some people find the Peloton 200 warmer than the 240 just because of the wind resistance. I have both, and the bonded fleece in the 240 seems far more windproof than the 200. To me, the 200 is basically a smooth-faced 100 wt performance fleece like nike or north face sells. In fact, I usually opt for my military ECWCS grid fleece 1/4 zip over the 200 because it's loftier on the inside for about the same amount of bulk. I wouldn't consider either of the Peloton's true insulation layers for anything more than cool temperatures. They make for good "transition" pieces as the cold morning temps start to warm up as the sun gets a little higher in the sky. Good news is, like some of the guys said earlier, they layer under a puffy pretty easily.

Thanks so much for everyone input. Very much appreciated, ordered an 240 hoodie tonight. Had a $25 off $150 with free shipping.

I am sitting in the same boat at the moment, but cannot decide between the 200 hoodie and the 97 hoodie , here in sout africa it is freezing cold in the morning and then heats up to lunch time and drops off again. Which one will you run? i actually like the 97 alot but have the 200 in my basket... hehe
