Kuiu neck gators - Merino vs Peloton 130

Looking for a camo neck gator to use primarily to pull over my face on set ups and cover my neck in the wind/sun.

Which is lighter? I want to be able to breath and I'll probably use it in warm climates as well as Colorado archery elk.

Also thought on the Peloton 240 beanie? is that the one Jay Scott was recently praising on his podcast?

Thanks

I have the merino 145 gaiter and can't tell a difference in thickness between my 125 shirt. It should breathe well, its the only thing that doesn't fog my glasses.

I have the merino gaiter and really don't like it. Its the itchiest piece of merino I own but what I really do not like about it is its way shorter than any other neck gaiter/buff I have. I bought it a couple years ago to cover my face while turkey hunting and the skin on my neck is exposed when I pull it up to cover my face. I like my FL Windriver balaclava 10x more.

Didn't find mine to be short. Yes stubble gets caught in it, recommend clean shave or grow it out.

I have the Merino 145 and really like it. I feel it's not too warm in warm temps and is surprisingly warm in cold temps considering how thin it is. I can't say anything in regards to the peloton, but if it came down to the two i would choose the merino 100/100. just my .02

I have the merino one and really like it for early fall weather. I don't recall using it in really warm weather (70+ degrees), but I assume it's about the same weight as the Buff's I wear when fly fishing in hot/sunny weather. If using purely to cover the face then I might steer you towards a face mask you pull up (with thin mess built in). If you want a light amount of warmth then the wools are great. I've also used mine in cold temps while sitting in a deer stand as well. Worked great for stopping the back of the neck draft. Last year I switched to Sitka's gaiter for really cold weather (the thicker fleece one they offer) and love it for late season glassing or stand hunting.

I have both the merino and Peloton neck gaiters. I used the merino last year and liked it ok. I haven't used the Peloton in the field yet, but I will this weekend! I liked it just trying it on. As for the beanie, I really like the fit of the 240 beanie. Much better than the guide beanie. Again no field use with it yet, but by the fit and feel, I think it will be great.

How is the stretch with the peloton, does it get stretched out?

I haven't used it in the field yet, but it is exactly the same material as the shirts. It stretches but should not stretch out.

Thanks guys, I ordered the Merino gator and the Guide hat because it was on sale in the outlet and they didn't have the peloton bean in large.

I can't help with kuiu or the peloton, but I will say that my FL balaclava is one of my favorite pieces of kit. It is thin merino and a very versatile piece of gear.
