I might be pulling the trigger on a pair of Kuiu attack pants soon. I've never worn kuiu before so I'm looking for info on how the pants fit. When i'm in elk shape (i know i should be in elk shape all the time...) I wear a waiste size 34 pant. I don't like baggy pants but much prefer a loose fit pant due to the fact that I kind of have a big butt. haha. wife likes it. I'm just wondering if I should order 36's and plan on using a belt?

Thanks,

Drew

The pants are a very athletic fit. I wear 32" jeans and found the 34" to be perfect. I have big legs because of decades of playing hockey so going a size up was perfect for me.

Definitely one size up from jeans. I wear a size 34 in absolutely all pants, but need a 36 in Kuiu. Take a true waist measurement and that should be close to your size.

I was concerned as well but was really happy about the fit of the attack pants. I'm 6'0 200lb wear a 34 with a bigger butt and thighs these are cut great for me without sizing up the waist. Just for reference I cannot wear standard cut levi's like 501's etc. but can where like the 550 series looser fit in thighs.

I'm in pretty much the same boat. I'm 5'11" 210 when out of shape and 195 during elk season. bigger butt and legs reguardless of my weight. I'm really tempted to go to the 36. I'm not trying to check anyone out or anything but someone wanna post a pic of the fitment of the attack pants? or is that just weird? haha

I wear the same size attacks as my jean size. (38) The legs are more generous compared to some of the other non hunting mountain pants I own. I can layer under them fine...

seems like about a 50/50 split between those saying go a size up and those saying stay true to your pant size. I might just trust my gut on this one and order the 36's.

I wear 36 in jeans and carhartts, and wear 38 in attacks that I will hunt in, because I tuck my shirt in and may want a baselayer under them. For attacks that I wear on a daily basis I have 36's. I have a large butt and very large thighs, plenty of room in either pair and they stretch very well.

Just got mine last week. By far my favorite hunting pants I have used so far. Order a size up. I wear a 30" in jeans and a 32" in the attacks. You will love them.

Go up a size. I wear 34s in carhartts, 36 in wranglers. I'm 6'1" 210 and have a BIG ass, and thick thighs. I too, tend to drop at least 5 pounds in elk shape. Typically 200 by the end of season. Just sold off my last pair of 34s in favor of 36s. The 34s could be worn fine for the most part. BUT, would tend to ride up my crack and split the moose knuckle on uphill hikes. I took pity on anyone hiking behind me and am very happy with 36s. And no, I won't be posting any pictures. Haha

I just ordered a pair of 34. Typically my waist is 32 to 33. Currently I am 5 foot 10 just under 200 pounds but normally 185 around elk season. Will have to let you know how they fit.

Measure your true waist size with a flexible tape and that will be the size you want to order. My waist measures 35" maybe a hair less and I wear 34 jeans and carharts. I have both the 34 and 36 attack pants. The 34's fit about like the guy from mountain hunter reviews on youtube if you type in kuiu it will pop up. They are tighter but I do have just the tiniest bit of room. The 36's fit well also but I do get just a little bunching under a pack belt.

Buy both and send the ones that don't work as well back. You will likely keep the 34s.

Just thought I'd let every one know that the size 36 attack pants were definitely the way to go for me. They fit absolutely perfect. I have full range of motion for stepping over logs or whatever and the fit on the waist, thighs, calves and butt is perfect. I also ordered the guide jacket in in large and the the ultra merino long sleeve. All items fit exceptionally well and I can't wait to put this gear through it's paces during bear season.

Here's a couple pics. For reference I'm 5'11" 205 lbs.

I just realized I could have posted a pic without the neck gaiter pulled up. Haha. But the wife didn't take any.

I just tried on a bunch of my buddies gear the other day. The guide pants are a bit larger than the attacks if you end up ordering those in the future FYI. Meaning if you are a 34 normally then a guide in 34 should be the way to go. The attacks are a little tighter in my opinion.
