Just got my KUIU Chinook jacket and thought I would share my thoughts. Its in size SMALL. Thats right size SMALL. Its really hard to find quality hunting jackets in size small so I jumped on this one.
I got the Verde to match the Tiburon pants, shirt & Merino I already have. The Chinook is a light jacket with a textured fleece lining. Has plenty of pockets & pit zips. I can open the pit zips with the jacket on but cant get them back closed, maybe after some pratice. The 4 chest pockets are nice. All zippered. The 2 at the bottom of the jacket are just right for your hands to fit in and the zippers arent eating on your wrist. The pockets are deep also. i would have liked a waist draw cord, but it has none. The jacket is a little odd, its like they took a vest and added shirt sleevs to it. The body feels like a jackes but the sleeves feel like a shirt. Wont be wareing a bulky shirt or sweater under the Chinook. I'm a little guy 5'4; 130# so if I'm not getting a lot of room in the sleeves you big guys will be wareing a base layer under it. Sleeves will be great for us bow hunters. The sleeves are shorter on the size small Chinook than any of the size Mediums KUIU I own. And the KUIU size medium & small have shorter sleeves than the Kryptek. I think this jackes will be nice for when the guide jacket is to much. I can also ware the Chinook under my size medium Guide Jacket. Might be a little bulky around the neck as they both have the same collar, maybe fold the Chinook collar under. Theres room in the body for my Western Mounteering Flash down vest, My favorite piece of clothing. Hope that helps.

5x5's, your jacket doesn't have a waist draw cord? Check the hand warmer pockets, that is where the draw cord for mine is to tighten and loosen it, unless the small lacks that feature...

Body girth seems bigger than my gen 1 guide jacket. Plenty of room for layering. Sleeves are snug like on the guide. Should make for a great early season jacket. Only time in the field will tell for sure though...

Is it noisy at all? Its ripstop nylon so that's my concern. And I am happy they make size S too (5'6 140#) but w/o other size S options I'm not sure I want to invest in KUIU gear. I really wanted a rain jacket. But the good folks at KUIU think all mountain hunters are built like ex-NFL players.
