Has anyone found a better alternative to the crappy plastic lens cover they give you? Drives me nuts how easily it falls off. Something rubber that snaps in like the Razor lens cover would be worth its weight in gold.

I assume you are talking about the eyepiece cap. Yes they have a new harder plastic with tether hole in it. Seems solid. Not afraid of it flipping of any more. If you are talking objective, I never had issue.

Talking objective. Falls off when I slide it in and out of my pack. Maybe I'm the only one.

Mine snaps in pretty well, maybe contact them and see if you can get a new one. I will say one positive of the fitted kowa case is that it has a zippered objective cover as well, just wish it was neoprene.

I would check to see if those threads on the cap are worn/smooth down or the threads on the scope. Just email them and they should send you a cap.

I've been dealing with the same issue on my Kowa 77 as well. Seems to come off fairly regularly when I pull it out of my pack.....

I keep my Cordura Cover on my scope. When I unzip the objective end, I just put the cap in the padded section of the cover. There is actually a little strap or flap of fabric that you can put it in to hold it there if you take the time to do it. That said, I haven't needed to, just pushing it down into the padded cordura cover holds it really well.

I did worry about it at one point and taped some dental floss at a tether to the objective housing and to the cap. But I quickly zipped that floss into the zipper and broke the floss tether. I didn't like that option near as much.

Really the only bad thing about the Kowa case is it doesn’t look flashy, it isn’t heavy and provides as good of protection as anything else. I thought about replacing it but don’t know why I would other then I don’t like the look of it that much.

I found it way too loose to enjoy having it on. Also, I don't like stuff hanging off of the spotter like the flip down objective cover. It's not a bad case, just not for me. I use a STX neoprene cover on mine.
