Kotzebue & north in early Aug

Also posted in General asking about any and all northern Alaska August opportunities, but for caribou specifically:

Likely will be in Kotzebue (possibly with visits to Tin City and other northern units) at the beginning of August for work (military).

Are there any caribou opportunities that may be open to me by just being up there at that time? Obviously I was not aware of this trip with enough forward notice to book a guide, unless there's a way to do last minute stuff?

Look up the fiasco that is unit 23 caribou hunting and the Federal Subsistence Board.

Probably not worth the gas to try to hunt state land only unless you have connections
