I'm finally gotten around to posting some pictures from our Oct goat hunt in Kodiak.
-Flew with Andrews on the way in (Willie), Seahawk on the way out
- Made it in to Terror Lake- I'd love to hunt the area again
- I passed on the old girl my friend shot
- We got pushed out by 5 hunters trying to stalk the whole herd.
- Flew out just before the weather got nasty
-Overall, an amazing hunt, My first time to Kodiak and I can't wait to go back!
-- Oh only had one bear encounter, which turned out well.

Congrats. You goat season went better than mine. Terror Lake gets pressure...but still less than Center Mtn and the Road System. Glad you made it in and out safely and have some meat and horns to show for it.

I tumbled down a hill and busted my knee. MRI forthcoming...

Looks like a great time! Goat hunting Kodiak has become kind of an annual event for us, and is one of my favorite hunts! Sounds like you all did it right. Congratulations!

Can you upload higher resolution photos? Looks like a good time.

Well I would love to if anyone would care to tell me how to load them so they show up as full photos like the ones Luke and Becca post. PLEASE?...

I posted them without looking at them. HORRIBLE!!! Sorry

This is the goat I passed on. Still not sure if I regret it or not. I was really hoping for a nice billy. Just after this girl was shot a MASSIVE billy popped over the ridge with a big group of goats tagging along. I shot once and didn't see how high I shot, so I held off as too many goats were in the way. An amazing sight that won't leave my mind for years to come, that's for sure. This nanny was 10 years old, 10 1/2" horns and inside spread of 13 1/2. Oddly this is my first mountain goat hunt and most other hunts now seem boring to me. I definitely will be going goat hunting again.

Kodiak goats will get into your blood! Fantastic gost hunting with better, ie more user friendly Terrain than a lot of other goat areas! Congrats on the goat! To bad the island is so expensive, I'd be down there every winter picking up my two goats!!

I am going in 5 weeks jake!! Let's go! $600 pp after flight to and from anchorage to Kodiak and back ;)

Shoot luke, yer killing me. Our schedules don't run together so probably couldn't pull it. That and five kids....and a wife....man I wanna go.

907 Campbell, I drew this tag today for the upcoming season, love to get a few details from you.

I killed a decent billy near Center mountain a few years ago. Love the area! Looked over at Terror Lake and swore I'd get in there for a billy, well, the year has come!

Need to add....many thanks to you, Jake for the Kiyzuyak Bay details you shared with me (fullkurl) for that hunt. Great info....

Over the last 5 years I've drawn permits for and harvested goats in the North and South Road system and Crown Mountain. Last year was my 10th successful goat hunt. It never gets old chasing these majestic animals. I didn't draw a permit this year and I'm planning on doing a fly in hunt in RG480. Possibly looking for a partner if anyone is interested. Like I said, I've personally shot 10 goats so I'm experienced in their country. I've already spoken with Dean at Andrews air and have a couple ideas where to go for goats and possibly a deer combo. Shoot me a PM if you're interested.
