I have a Knight DISC Elite 45 cal. It uses the red jackets for the primer. What do I need to buy to convert this to the bare primer? Or is there something else I can do to update this ML?
I just bought a DISC Extreme. It is a .52 cal. The only game in town right now is to purchase the conversion kit through Knight. Cost is about $170. The kit consists of an empty bolt and a breech plug. You will need to take the firing pin assembly out of the RPJ bolt that you have and install in the new bolt. https://www.muzzleloaders.com/product/209-bare-primer-conversion-kit/
Lehigh used to make a bolt adapter that installed in the end of the existing bolt and a breech plug but that was many moons ago and I doubt that you could find one. SSK made a breech plug years ago but no bolt. Anything you will find at cabelas or anywhere else won’t work. You will need to buy it from Knight. It is the same bare primer ignition that Knight uses on their newer models of rifles.
