WTS Kimber Mountain Ascent 7mm REM MAG Barrel

Checking interest in an unfired (aside from the factory test rounds) Mountain Ascent barrel chambered in 7mm REM MAG. Pulling the barrel and using the action to go a different route. It will come with the factory brake and thread protector. I can throw in some Talley 1” rings as well if the buyer wants them.

Make an offer, I’m not sure what it’s worth or if anyone will even want it.

It will have to be shipped from Alaska, just FYI.

Random questions where in AK you at and are these barrels interchangeable? I’ve got a 6.5cm I use as my fly in caribou gun and would be cool to be able to swap the barrel to something heavier when flying in to brown bear country.

I don’t believe that would work for you. The gun guys could correct me on whether your action would have clearance but a 6.5 is a short action and a 7mm RM is a long action.

I’m pulling the 7 mag barrel and shoehorning an 18” .416 Ruger barrel onto it. With some action and bolt work it should be a pretty slick setup. Scoped I’m hoping to be around 7-1/2lbs.

Brutal to shoot but it’s in my hands all day when I’m guiding coastal brown bears and should be a joy to carry compared to the 10lb .375 Ruger I’ve been using.
