Build thread for the rifle: https://rokslide.com/forums/threads/kimber-hunter-build-stock-mods.405012/
Started life as a Kimber Hunter in 6.5 CM. Barreled action is unmodified. Extensive work has been done to modify the stock with a vertical grip, negative comb, and flat toe. A significant amount of material was also removed from the forend. Everything was wrapped in carbon fiber afterwards. 3 layers on the rear, and 2 in the front. This made a very light rifle extremely pleasant to shoot, easy to stay on target, and lighter than factory. With the rail and an empty magazine, the gun weighs 5.25lbs. This is an 800 yard capable rifle with Rokstok geometry that weighs 5.25 lbs and is all ready to hunt minus a scope and rings.

- Modified stock
- Rokstok style geometry.
- Free-float forend
- Full-length bedding with CF reinforced Marine-Tex Grey
- Front action screw replaced with a titanium one, and then the front action screw was moved to the rear. This saves ~.5oz
- One factory Kimber Hunter magazine
- The stock is no work of art, it's a work of function. It has its fair share of imperfections and epoxy clay filler. Currently rattle canned brown.
- Cervatelli grind to fit foam recoil pad
- Both sling studs removed
- 6.5 CM Stainless 22" barrel
- 220 rounds. Bore looks fantastic
- Load development complete. It has printed a 1.1" 10 shot group with the load I settled on, but the next time out with that load had a couple outside of the main group. Picture below. Load is a 130 HVLD, CCI 200, 43.5 gr of RL-16, 2.81" COAL in Hornady brass. 2900 FPS. If you want, I can load the last 90 bullets I have for $2.50/round. Otherwise, load dev is done.
- Torqued & bonded Talley picatinny rail
- Trigger currently configured to mimic a 2 stage (more sear engagement). If you prefer, I can change that back to the factory settings with very little pre-travel and overtravel.
