Anyone have a Woodsman? Thoughts? Im wanting to get one and put it on a 26" frame. Not really any reviews or videos(besides Kifarus) on the Woodsman itself. I think it would work better for my style than the Reckoning especially when packing out meat. The gear I carry for a 5 day hunt during archery season will not properly fill out the bottom of the bag to keep the weight(meat) in the center of the frame. Looking for some pics of it loaded to capacity and how its sits when you have it on fully loaded. Also when its fully compressed for day hunting. Thanks.

I received mine about three weeks ago and have been hiking several times and on one overnighter.

So far very pleased.

Plenty for a 3-5 day trip for me, with the addition of a guide lid and two small pouches on my belt.

The zipper is nice, though I don't know how often I'll use it, except when packing for a trip or packing up camp to relocate.

It is very strappy, and the compression straps that cross the bag need to be trimmed for sure.

I'll try to take some pics of my setup and post them.

There's a few threads on here with good pictures from a while back. If you search "kifaru woodsman" under the backpack specific forum it should bring them up. I believe one of them is specifically called "kifaru woodsman setup."

I was in the same boat as you, but decided to go with a reckoning in the end because I like to carry things on the outside of my pack and the bellowed pockets work well for that.

I was leaning seriously toward the woodsman cause I thought I would like the bellow pockets. Settled on the reckoning due to the added space and the zipper allowing the bag to come apart at the top. After playing with it I absolutely love the bellow pockets.

Yeah, there's a few other threads on here regarding that pack. I've got one with a guide lid and 2 scope pockets on it. Overall I think it'll be my favorite pack if I can get the pockets dialed in. The scope pockets are actually too big and you lose stuff in the bottom of them. I'm thinking that some medium side pockets and large belt pouches would be a good combination for compartmentalization on the sides.

There's plenty of room on the inside for my sleep system, shelter and clothes. Food bag can go on the outside below the pack where the frame extends lower than the bag, or sleeping bag in a dry bag there and food inside. I like to have something there so that the pack stands upright if I want it to when I set it down.

I have 2 medium pockets that I use with a 4200ci Dana design and have plenty enough space, so I'm pretty sure the woodsman would work great especially adding a guide lid. I just wanted to see how tall it's gets when fully loaded with a lid. Couldn't find any pics of specifically that when I searched but did see the ones you guys were talking about.

Here is a shot of my woodsman from this weekend's backpacking trip.

It's on a 26" frame here.

This setup includes large belt pouches mounted on the sides of the pack near the top. Small belt pouches on both sides of the belt.

Also includes guide lid.

I'm 5'10", 185 lbs.
