Really only you can answer your question on if it will get used. Is it a must have, nope, but it is nice to have when glassing and lite enough to have in a day pack for an unexpected overnight away from camp. But by no means is it a must have.
I use mine with my kids in the colder months, for summer backpacking and scouting more than anything.
I don't think it is a must have, but I like it for what I use it for.
I use mine on my couch, love it. If I can afford the weight, I bring it along on hunts to keep in my pack with a paratarp in case a night away from camp is needed.
I used mine as my quilt during my week long early season archery blacktail in CA. Lows were mid 40s and worked great. Used it a few weeks ago during a fishing trip when the needle dipped below freezing...I was cold even with my base layers on....it's only motivated me to buy a doobie. I love it
Mine gets used almost every night as an extra quilt on our bed at home. No complaints from the wife she appreciates its warmth. So I look at it as double duty.
