Very interested in the new frames. My preferred method of carrying my rifle is by using my the pack stays as a "hook" for my sling; I hate having the sling constantly slipping off my shoulder. From the pictures it is difficult to tell if there is enough of a "hook" to keep the rifle from slipping? Have tried the Gun Bearer and do not like the barrel in front of my face or having to be careful sitting down. Thanks.

No experience with the new duplex frames but its tough to get the sling to catch between the stays at the grab handle on my older style duplex unless the bag is fairly empty. The internal frame on the timberline series of packs "hook" the sling exactly as you are describing but again the bag cant be stuffed. The bikini frame does not hook the sling at all because of the top stay is so close to the top of the frame.

Maybe I dont understand fully... But I used to love being able to put the sling of my rifle over the stay on my bikini. It rode very nicely there. That method doesn't work for me with the new frame. Nothing for it to sort of hook onto. I will miss that part of the bikini.

Not sure why I could never get my sling to ride on the bikini frame but mine is a 24" where my duplex and internal framed timberline packs both were 26" and maybe that had something to do with it.

Why not use the Gunbearer, takes the weight right off your shoulder.

Probably doesnt help you but i found that in open areas i can hook the string of my recurve over the top of both duplex stays and let the riser hang down on pack. Works very well and i can access bow without removing pack.

I have one of the new duplex ultralights with 24" stays. Couldn't get my sling to stay hooked over them this weekend.

Just did a 9 day hunt with a 26" hunting frame/composite stays/cargo panel and yes it hooks over the stay perfectly. Used it everyday like that. I have a soft rubber/neoprene sling which may work better than a leather sling. My buddy with a mtn warrior had a little difficulty at first but by day 3 or 4 had it working for him too. Great way to carry a rifle.
