Curious if there is any specific reason for the difference in how the lumbar pad is fastened at the top on a DT1 and T1? Was out for a hike with a buddy yesterday and we were comparing packs to see what was the same or different.

DT1 with velcro strap on top of lumbar pad which goes through the grommet then velcros on the backside of the frame.

T1 with strap and 3 bar slider on top of lumbar pad.

Don't know the reason. On the bikini frame it attaches differently than both of those

There really is no reason other than they are different is because one is a duplex frame. And the others is a Timberline. Two different packs. One has a frame sheet the other does not.

Duplex frames attach one way
Bikini frames attach another way
and the timberlines, late season, (smaller packs) etc attach to the pack.

Does that make sense?

It likely has something to do with the T1 not having a frame to run the Velcro strap through, thus requiring a different method of securing the pad.

Yep...Matt is correct.

Each suspension needed a slightly different approach, but the end result is the same.
