I recently saw that a guy on here is using the Kifaru Gunbearer for carrying his bow under his arm. The pics he sent and the confidence he expressed were intriguing (Where'sBruce). Has anyone else used this approach? Any positive or negative thoughts or experiences?

Bow in the Gunbearer works just fine. I have used the GB on a KU5200 for three falls in BC on extended backpack trips for stones, deer, bears, etc. The bow is a lot more convenient and safer on the side than in back of me attached to the pack in my opinion. I leave Tuesday sometime for another stone hunt and the bow will be in the Gunbearer Wednesday PM or Thursday morning heading into the high country. Hiking sticks work fine with the bow in the GB. The GB doesn't work the few times I was on horseback though. Held the bow in my hand to prevent it getting caught on anything when mounted.

That's great feedback. Thank you. Did you get the left hand carry model? I just ordered one, but wonder if the top straps would get in the way of a shot. I am a right hand shooter, but was thinking I would carry it under my left arm.
