Picked up a new UL duplex and AMR bag, with a guide lid, grab it, Nalgene holder and a small and medium belt pouch. I'm going to pick up a holster for one side and would like the bottle holder and a pocket on the other. Is the mini pocket the only one that will fit next to the bottle holder? Even the small pocket is pretty big and seems to take up most of the room one one side.

Also looking for some advice on attaching pockets to the AMR. When fully packed it's not problem, but when condensed down into a daypack, it's seems like anything attached would be useless.

Yes, only the mini belt pouch fits beside the Nalgene bottle holder on the belt.

Tough call on the attached side pockets. I don't run any pockets on the side of my AMR in day pack mode. The stuff I need quickly (and not so quickly) rides perfectly well in the two back pockets, guide lid, or belt pouches on my belt. I had a pair of SS pockets when I initially bought the AMR but sold them after I realized I didn't need them. I'm either in day mode or fully opened into dead hooker disposal mode. Side pockets just don't fit into my "needs" list when in day pack mode.

I have a medium belt and run a small and bottle holder on my left

Bill,

Do you have any pictures of your AMR in day mode? It seems like a lot of bag to compress and a lot of excess straps. Do the bottom straps get tight enough to hold everything in place?

a small pouch takes 5 pals loops on my medium belt I have 6 loops. the bottle holder uses 2 pals loops. I just bunch up the small pouch to 4 loops. a small waist belt has 5 loops so with a bottle holder that only leaves you with 3 loops left

Nd, I don't have any pics on my phone right. Will shoot some for you tomorrow afternoon.

The sides of the bag fold inward really well. Not "pleated" but they act like they're made to fold in towards the middle by design. I use auto locks on my AMR and that leaves just about a buckles length of room from completely sucking down flat. They cinch down enough for me to leave the main bag empty and fill the back pockets without hardly any movement. Of course it all depends on how I have the back pockets filled also. Straps are controlled by the Velcro 1 wrap strips. I have mine set where I can go from big mode to day mode and have about 6-8" strap hanging. Depending on my mood I either let them hang or roll them up tidy.

Hopefully pics tomorrow will show what I'm trying to explain.

That makes sense. It basically collapses like a paper bag. Sides and bottom fold in. When I tried folding the bottom in, something just didn't look right. I think I'm just being too picky about the looks :D.
