Has anybody ever built or modified a kid carrier to mount onto your pack frames?? I have a two year old and a 10 month old baby. I am thinking I could get a lot more hiking in if I had some way to carry them with me. And it would help me get in shape for elk season:) any ideas welcome!!

I had on old kelty kid hauler that was given to me when we had pur first. I used it a lot but after i tasted the kifaru koolaid i just vouldnt handle that crappy frame. So i disassembled it and mounted the kid seat frame thingy on my kifaru or another frame i made. Works like a champ. I just tie mine on with paracord each time. I keep telling myself im going to make a quick connect system for it but the pcord is still getting it done.

Saw a picture somewhere of a guy using that Kelty carrier inside his cargo panel on a Duplex frame. Looked pretty slick.

Yeah so behind the child's back top left in the pic there's a couple pockets and then underneath where those yellow straps are there's more storage. It's actually a pretty decent amount underneath. They hold up really good to weight nice frame. My wife slid off a rock face with our old one and cracked the aluminum frame about 4 years after our we bought it Kelty sent us this one to us in three days free of charge. They basically said our frames shouldn't break we are sending you a new one.

I have my first born due in July and am trying to figure out how to do the same with a Krux frame.

Here is what I did for my 2 year old. I took an older alps pack frame with a load shelf and modified the load straps to go across her waist and one across her chest. I put an old pillow on the back because it has some metal bars that would hit her in the middle of the back and the back of the head, I then put a little bag on top to store a few things for our hike. She loved it so much that she went to the store with me a few weeks later and tried out the other pack frames.
