Who makes a boot with good ankle support but a softer outsole than mountain extreme ?

I have a question for you; purpose of a softer sole? You will run into wear issues if you do, IE Rocks.

I wear them every day and they slip on wet harder surfaces.

Their Hardscramble has a softer sole. It is the most comfortable boot I've worn but I stopped using it because the sole is so soft. I am wore it every day for three months and because it was so soft, I wore it out. It doesn't help that I'm 260lbs . . .

Switched to other boots that use Vibram soles.
