Looking for a pack for backpacking trips(mostly non-hunting) and handled some Keltys this weekend(Coyote 80 and Redcloud 90). They seem like pretty good bags for the price. Just wondering if anyone has used them and how they handle any weight at all. Thought that I might pick one of these up for summer scouting/fishing trips and have them around for a backup/loaner to use in a pinch during hunting season. So any input on Kelty packs?

Kelty

I have a 2009 Kelty Red Cloud 90. It is quite comfortable to at least 60 lbs. Lots of pockets for those that like organization. It has been reliable and durable. If you want to pack meat its probably good to around 90 lbs or so if you can keep the meat off the bottom of the bag with a kifaru meat baggie and some additional compression strapping. I would rate it as very good for general backpacking, just acceptable for meat hauling. DSC01486.jpg
