Just a dog…

I’ve had boxes my entire life. I’m 45. This was my 4th and by far the healthiest and most well mannered in my opinion, handsome.

I know it’s early but if anybody knows where to get us in line for a good Boxer or springer spaniel by maybe by Christmas time, I’m all ears.

My wife’s father lives next-door he’s 83 and took care of this boxer While we were at work. He’s. So depressed. Yes yesterday is chair which is not much new but at least the dog uses the next to him. Hahaha. Gotta laugh.

Anyway.

Like I said, it’s just very busy week. Just kinda setting in.

Just a dog, but damn.

It's always hard when it's their time. Sorry for your loss

True. It’s easy to get around. They’re just more folds around it than a dog. I love him and I’ve got a kid who came late because we started late. I’m an old ******. So I’ve got a five-year-old who best friend was the dog. I’ve got an 85-year-old father-in-law. Who’s best friend was the dog and I got a wife who right now is just pissed. Our parents are my neighbors. It’s good. Everything‘s good. It’s just his life man. It’s just life. I was fine until two hours ago. I guess the beer hit me.

Man that is tough. Sorry for your loss. I try not to let a minute go by that I don’t give mine the best life possible and can’t imagine the day I don’t have him around.

Ain’t no such thing as “just a dog.” It’s like losing a family member that you raised. We had to put our 9yo Doberman down last year, and I still miss him.

Yeah, I was joking a little bit. I’m turned 45 couple weeks ago. Had a Brittany spaniel stolen. Had a mutt had to go bye-bye cause he bit my sister, This was my fourth Boxer.

Head and shoulders above all of the other dogs. In terms of temperament intelligence looks the whole 9 yards. He definitely didn’t hunt with this shit., but that’s to be expected.

Had a shot deer one morning I took him out there to where I lost blood in the next day. Hahahah. It was truly hysterical. We got the blood ended. He looked at me and went left and I can’t walk and walk and walking just on a whim, taking the easy path and I found the deer. The dog was out in the bay. Hahah

losing a dog is losing a member of the family. Sorry for your loss. When I lost my dog a few years ago it was horrible, she was a good dog and sick in the end.

Damn man - sorry to hear and it never gets easier.

We had to put our boxer down very unexpectedly just over a month ago. He had been to the vet a few times recently and was healthy as far as the tests and vets could tell. Long story short he ended up having seizures due to an insulinoma (sp?) and no matter that the vets tried they couldn’t stabilize his blood sugars. He was only 6, our third boxer and arguably the best one yet.

I like to think of myself as pretty “tough” and level headed but damn that one messed me up.

I look at my Lab and just know she's going to break my heart one day (almost 9).
Love em.
