Judging Mule Deer Video

Nice video. I went with #3 at the beginning and I think I'd keep it that way even after hearing score differences. Score ain't everything, as you noted

Fun video. I went with the 171", but did learn something. I'd be happy with any of them! 🤣

Also, it's funny you ask about the cheaters on #3 yet the score from left and the score from right were similar, listen to Episode 648 of Meateater Radio. They briefly mention something very similar in whitetail bucks. Where one side may be all janked up due to an injury, but often enough, the amount of horn is still similar. Interesting topic there.

Interesting, thanks!

Excellent video! Thanks for posting. Eye guard origination distance from antler base is something I’ve never noticed or thought about. Interesting.

26” ear spread. My god! I picked the highest scoring buck as the one I would shoot, but I still under judged him by 5”. Probably due to that insane ear spread or me not accounting for how big his eyeguards were.

Thanks so much. Yes I under judged him as well. 😂 I once shot a deer with an 18 inch ear spread and over judged him like crazy!😬

Great video, I picked the deer on the left initially and without a second angle of the middle buck I might still prefer his frame. I am curious what the mass measurements are for these deer?

At first, I thought the left deer was the biggest, and the middle buck's frame still looks impressive without more angles! Nice video, thanks for sharing.
