January Arizona deer

Anyone here hunting arizona next month? The unit I'm going too is an OTC archery hunt. Got a few tips from guys that have hunted it. It will be nice to hunt something different than Wyoming or Montana.

I'm definitely gonna go back home to hunt in Jan. Grew up with these OTC deer hunts and love them.

I live in southeastern AZ. Mule deer are starting to rut and the coues are starting to think about it. Archery deer hunting in the desert is great! I would suggest buying an archery javalina tag as well. There are a number do leftover tags and if you have never had the chance to chase pigs, you are missing out. Archery javalina hunting is a blast!

Leaving Friday for three weeks in the AZ desert........luckily I have some vacation time I need to burn or lose it. I'll hunt on my 2013 tag until the end of the year.....then the new tag beginning the 1st. Hopefully I can find one that I want to shoot during that time. Either way, it will be a good time except for the weather. The extended forecast is a little warm for my liking.

Glad to see everyone is excited to go. The unit I'm planning on hunting is 6B. I've heard it isn't the greatest unit, but has decent deer. Is there a better unit I should be looking at?

I have been trying to talk myself into hunting AZ. I haven't been able to find much info on good/better/best areas down there...it's a long drive to go into something blind! Thought about unit 22 since I will put my boy in for junior elk there. I'm trying to decide between this hunt and Nevada Rubies archery as my fallback hunts.

I'm starting to do some research on this hunt for 2015- never hunted out west at all, but I'm looking to make a change from my treestand hunting for whitetails here in Georgia... looking forward to seeing some stories and pictures after this year's hunt
