Thursday morning it all came together. I took the furthest shot of my life at a animal at 55yds with my bow. It also was the hardest shot to make that I ever took. However after really spending the time day after day shooting I felt 100% confident and it all paid off.
In short this mature 10 point came in to 30 yds only giving me a frontal shot thinking he would he would get closer and turn for me. Another buck came in and he went to push him off. So I pulled back and stopped him at 55 yds quartering hard away. So I put it right on the hindquarter at let it rip. I watched him run off with my pink luminock barely sticking out. I was nervous i made the wrong decision. How ever less then 100 yd trailing job i located him. After pulling his guts and heart out. I found my broad head had pierced the bottom of his heart.
I’m not making a habit out of shooting deer this far and or shot placement but it sure makes you feel good when you know all this miserable hot summer days of shooting paid off.
