Is this amount of Flex Normal? Tikka CTR w/ Bipod

Hey guys picked up a CTR recently, threw on a Harris bipod, sling attachment, no tilt.

While rifle is on the bench, slight moving left and right, the rifle flexes a decent amount in the foreend.

Normal? Or due to bipod.

that does seem like a lot. on the left side of the rifle is the pressure relief hole just kiss the top of the stock inlet? the action may not be seated into the recoil lug properly.

I just hogged out my factory stock for more gap around my barrel and noticed I have a bit more flex init as well

The decrease in stock-to-barrel clearance appears to be due to you twisting the stock. It's further exacerbated from the non-pivoting bipod.

Looking at how far back that barrel gap is. Is that thing seated in the stock right?

Exactly I’m twisting the stock and the bipod plants the front end and allows me to flex it.

I’m doing more than I would for the video, but when cycling as round I noticed it enough to be curious.

I’d say not normal, I use Harris and atlas bipods and I’ve never noticed enough flex on a tikka to do that.

My Ruger American rimfire is a different story, off a bipod it flexes and touches the barrel.

Unless the inside of the stock looks different…I wouldn’t be able to screw the BA in any other way or incorrectly seat it.

Oh well, was looking at replacing this stock anyways.

I had similar but not that much. I took my CTR and put it in a roughtech stock. The CTR mag sticking out the bottom didn't jive with my hunting situation. So I opened the barrel channel slightly with dremel and installed SS pillars. I now torque the standard plastic bottom metal to 65in-lb instead of 45. No issues, very little movement and hammer as it should. You'll notice i left the ss tubing long. I measured it so that the internal washer in bottom metal would bottom out on it. Thus having a solid mount from bottom metal to action.
