How is it blowing these things up? As in how much of a pain is it/how long does it take to inflate one? I've been looking around and can't decide whether to go with something like a neoair xlite or something that is self-inflating like the evolite.

I really like the looks of the evolite and the whole self inflating thing, but it has such poor reviews and the xlite line has such good ones that it is hard to go against that.

What say those of you with experience with both?

FYI this pad will be used without a cot and primarily during early archery elk seasons and once or twice for a september moose hunt in AK.

It takes 10 deepish breathes for me to blow up my insulated pad. With an exped schnozzle bag you can do it easily and not get moist air inside your pad.

Probably takes me about a minute and a half to inflate my Xtherm. So I would say no pain at all, especially considering the warm and comfort it provides.

Seen a guy bring a battery powered inflater out one year, I wouldn't waste my money on one. Not a necessity

Blew up my BAIAC pad last year at 10,500'. Didn't notice any major issues. After getting an xtherm and using the included air bag for inflation I'll never blow on another pad again.

I've never blown into my XTherm. I have only used the included pump sack which is also the stuff sack. Works like a champ on the living room floor, but kind of tricky in a small tent. I found a good deal on the Therm-a-Rest NeoAir Mini Pump, which takes 2 AAA batteries and weighs less than 3 oz. I'm going to try using it from now on.

Exped has the schnozzle, which looks really good. Much better sack/pad connection and only takes one or two pumps to inflate the pad.
