I decided to get back on n to traditional archery a few months ago after some research i decided to go the ILF route I started out with a laminate riser and a set of used bronze star limbs. Finally got it all put together and started shooting 4 days ago. I’ve probably shot it for 3 ish hours at this point and am pulling 29#. Today all of a sudden I started hearing a buzzing sound when i shot. After looking the bow over I found a crack in the riser. I’m hoping to contact the seller Monday and I think they’ll take care of it but I’m wondering if it’s likely to happen again if I get the riser replaced or if I should try to get a refund.

What brand is the riser? Riser failures are more common than you'd think. Especially on cheap risers.

Pat Norris Archery, same as deer stalker I believe.

Edit : deer seeker not deer stalker
Not familiar with that brand. If concerned, try a metal riser if you get a refund? Can't go wrong with Hoyt, DAS, Tradtec, or Borders. Own one of each.

I have 4 white feather lark risers. You can get them for a couple hundred dollars from alternative archery.....I broke one last year in a nasty crash.....it's impressive what they will take.

Pats a good dude....I bet he takes care of you. Bought my first bow from him 45 years ago.

FYI, those are the same risers produced en mass in china or overseas. It is surprising they would fail at such low poundage....

I talked to him a couple times he seemed like a great guy. I’m sure I got a dud that didn’t get glued right or something, I’m hoping it’s not a common issue with them. I really liked it I’ve never really shot a bow that well balanced or dead in the hand , I’ve also never shot that low weight either.
