I was at the range this past weekend doing a little shooting before my spring bear hunt and my groups were shifting around on the target. Long story short, the reticle is moving around inside the scope. You can see it rotating when you adjust the magnification.

They are shipping out a new one but I live in the suburbs and may need to hit a local range to zero it which limits me to 100 yards. I'm not comfortable at really long ranges but when everything is dialed in and under the right conditions, I would take a 300-400 yard shot.

If anyone is familiar with the Selway-Bitterroot Wilderness area (I would be coming from Missoula), where would you go to shoot your rifle. I'm not looking to shoot all day just take a couple confidence boosters at 300 yards. Thanks.

There is a range in Missoula, but look at the schedule first, members only certain days, and certain ranges certain days. I don't go there so I don't know much about it.

There is also a range in Hamilton, closed mon-wed. Max shooting distance is 300 yards.

If you are just looking for spots in the woods to sight in, tell me where you are entering the wilderness area and I might be able to tell you of a good spot to shoot, that are in the general direction.

I wasn't sure if target shooting was legal within the wilderness area. I will check out the range in Hamilton. Thanks guys.
