Idaho grizzly help

Hello I’m new to the forum. I’m from east TN and I’ve done 8 backcountry hunts out west but never Idaho and never spring bear. I’ve seen the grizzly distribution map on Idaho fish and games website. I was wondering if anyone could give me some insight on if that’s still pretty accurate. I’m not against hunting grizzly country but I would be alone and it being my first spring bear hunt I’m gonna have enough to learn and deal with without worrying about G Bears any insight would be helpful. The Island Park units (60,61,62,62A) are loaded with grizzly bears. Many northern units have grizzlies, too, but I don't have enough familiarity to tell you which ones. Grizzlies nave also been seen in the Beaverhead and Palisades areas in recent years.

Grizz are in 67 and 65 regularly. In 64 but light density. They make it over to 66 and 69, but doesn’t seem like they’re home range yet, probably a few there, but my mindset changes there. If you look at the ID differences, it’s pretty easy to spot the differences. If you keep a clean camp and make positive id, I wouldn’t worry about it. I live in grizz country and the cats and moose scare me more than the bears. Also different story if you’re rifle or archery.

Being your first trip and doing it alone elevates the risk of hunting in griz country. Choose wisely.

I would say generally the grizzly distribution map is going to be pretty current but if you hunt anywhere along the Montana border at this point you can rule them out, then obviously the island park units and panhandle have established populations. They’ve expanded into the Selway. If you hunt SW Idaho or Central Idaho you’re probably pretty safe from grizzlies

Keep a clean camp and not worry about it. Be wise going into thick brush or keep out of it. Control your mind. Your mind will make you leave. It's done it to me.

I've gone on a MT Goat count just west of West Glacier, in griz country. Never saw one. And we were in the heart of griz country. And were able to glass into a lot of valleys and we could never spot one.

Mind your camp and be aware when you bone out your game.....you'll be fine.

BTW, I think there were only what, 4 or 5 attacks this year? The chances of being attacked are not as likely as you are being in a car accident tomorrow.
