I was able to get an any antlered deer rifle tag for this unit and am looking for some advice as to what to do.

I'm a non-resident and picked up the tag back in December. I also drew a tag for Utah and I'm trying to figure out where I should focus my efforts. I've never been to 62A and won't be able to get out to scout until a couple days before opener. I want to limit the amount of time I take off of work and though I like the idea of back-to-back out of state hunts, I plan on taking time off for other hunts through the remainder of the year.

That being said, can anyone chime in on what you think would be good for me to do? I'm looking at spending 7 days in Utah, and was considering a 5 day hunt if I were to keep the Idaho tag. I dont want to give it up, but if the success rate is low and Predator population is high, I won't sweat giving it up.

I'll admit I didn't do research into this unit and after waiting an hour in the queue I just chose a tag I thought would be good for the corresponding geographic area. Needless to say, I've done extensive research thereafter and have come to the conclusion I made the wrong choice.

Lesson learned and just wanted some input from folks who may have experience here. Thank you.

I just did the same thing you did. How did the hunt go in Idaho? I’m regretting getting unit 62A after research

The op made 1 post and was never heard from again. Pretty typical. Return the tag and hope for a better unit next year

I also had this same experience with my hunting partner in 62A. We traveled all the way down to ID for our first hunt there but It was really a bad experience for us. We hope for a better hunt next year and same mistake won’t be repeated
