I've accepted a job in Dallas, and have only been in the city for 12 hours for the interview. I'm a conservative, single guy, that loves hunting, archery, etc. I'm looking for a younger crowd with lots to do, but where a guy like me wouldn't be out of place. I've looked at uptown, and knox-henderson, and am leaning more toward the latter. If there are any other areas I should look into, or any specific buildings please PM me.

I think you are on the right track with those areas. You might also look into the Deep Ellum area.

Grapevine is hot right now. Lots of places to eat , etc..
Nephew lives in Allen and likes it so far. Everything to the north of Dallas is growing fast.

I've lived here for 30 years and my wife is a native. You'll like it and if you get bored it's your own fault.

The Dallas Safari Club Convention 17-20 Jan 2019 is a very cool event. My wife is from Dallas, so we spend quite a bit of time there. North Oak Cliff is trending now,, the Bishop Art District is a cool place to check out.

Let me ask you this- if guys on here just told you where to find an apartment- do you think there’s be any left by the time you got there? There’ll be a stack of applications and whoever has a better credit score than you will get the apartments. Guys go for the whole lives trying to find a place to settle down, get an apartment maybe even buy a house-after all that hard work they aren’t just going to blow up that spot on the Internet.

You will find it so much more rewarding if you find your own apartment buy doing your online reasearch with google instead of asking other people online who supposedly know. Way more rewarding to DIY SOLO than it is to get spoonfed information about what complexes have the highest population of single females etc

Guys- if you must ask questions about specific apartment complexes or neighborhoods PLEASE PLEASE TAKE IT TO PRIVATE MESSAGE!!

Yeah with the rise of social
Media it’s gotten sensitive. I was always a real DIY public land guy- but eventually I had to buy a house- the intagrammers and YouTubers blew up my apartment complex and the overall quality of the experience just tanked. I stuck it out two more years- just because I really knew the area well- but eventually I had to find greener pastures with smaller crowds and my own parking

There was a killer watering hole down the block from my old apartment. It was the lounge in an old and fairly rundown bowling alley. We head this YouTuber with a man bun show up and spotlight the place and that was basically the end of it. First thing you know it was 17 different kinds of old fashioned and 14 different Moscow mules and can’t even get a ranier anymore

Honestly most guys are only going to get in on a couple houses inthere lifetime nowadays just with it taking 15-30 years for most guys to accumulate points so you can get some answers about buying usually but apartments being so readily available you shoot your own self in the foot hotspotting them

If you think the apartment scene in Dallas is worth getting your shorts in a wad, then you are mistaken. You've been reading too many threads about looking for hunting honey holes.

Nevermind the fact that you are responding to a 6 month old thread.

Sounds to me like a few folks who actually live in or are from Dallas responded. nrh6.7 is right on, sure enough a little guy did get his in a wad.
And when did folks start "buying" apartments in Texas? Thought renting was the norm.

6 months is the minimum amount of time you need to get into shape for the big move. As anyone who’s ever moved a sofa up 3 flights of stairs can attest, the work really starts once you’ve signed the lease.

Nice. I’ve gotten where I can break down a sectional by myself in about 20 minutes. Last time it took me about 10 hours to pack out everything solo- but like you - I was up 3 flights of stairs and over 100 yards to the parking lot. But you do what you have to get some privacy and beat out the crowds

Gotta go steep and deep. 3 flights is a good start

And how much does it chap your ass to climb 3 flights only to find some turd has already ridden up there on his elevator the whole way- when it said it was closed for maintenance....you gotta report those kind of violations. That affects alll of us ethical apartment hunters.

Dude, if you're going to buy an apartment in Dalas, then it's better to pay attention to the number of floors and the year of commissioning. Oh yes, also pay attention to the documents that you will require when buying an apartment. Once I made a mistake, as hastened to buy an apartment and did not pay attention to all these aspects. It would be better to buy an apartment from parc-clematis company, as my friend advised me, because there is a simple registration, and the area is comfortable and pleasurable...
Dalas apartment is cheaper than Singapore ))
