I’m looking into building my PSA 18” Wylde 1:7 twist AR into a Deer & Varmint gun. The gun currently has a Nikon LVPO 1.5-4.5X20 scope I’m planning on upgrading.

I hunt Georgia, most shots will be sub 200-300 yards anyways. I’d like a lightweight but versatile gun to “do it all”.

I’m just looking for some ideas on what y’all have tried and has worked for you.

If your rifle is accurate and the Nikon holds zero and has a way to hold dope there’s no reason what you have won’t work. Get some decent ammo or load it and go to town. There’s a ton of info on good 223/556 loads that work good on deer. I use Federal LE 55gr HP ammo for all around which uses the 55gr SGK and performs well and shoots sub 3/4MOA from my SPR.

I have an 11.5 inch Lantac 5.56 I run suppressed. I also use Federal LE tactical bonded 55gr sp. never lost a deer with it.
