Anyone shot these and have any input? How do they compare to last years models?

I liked the ventum 33 over the rx-5 ultra. Waited for new bows. I was thinking I would like the rx-7 ultra, but pretty sure I will be buying the rx-7. It felt and shot great and I enjoyed the weight over the rx-7 ultra. They didn't have a ventum pro to shoot. 29" draw and 70 pounds.

Did you think the draw cycle was smoother than Ventum 33 on RX7 or stiffer?

I was at the shop today looking at both bows and asking questions. Shop owner was very impressed with RX7 and the other, who isn't a Hoyt fan, was disappointed when he liked the RX7 as much as he did.

I'll shoot both on the next few weeks and give my overall impression. Not that I'm an expert lol.

Thanks. I went with RX5 last year because of how smooth the draw cycle was. Even though I had it maxed out to 70#, it really only felt like I was pulling back 50#. This is most important to me since I’ve had 2 shoulder surgeries in the past.

I did try a few other top brands, but the draw was super harsh for me. Not trying to bash any brand, but Hoyt hit jackpot with smooth draws on last years models. Hopefully it’s the same on their newer models.

I took the word of a fellow on AT that shot the Ventum side by side with the Ventum Pro and said they were identical as far as draw cycles go.

Even if one is a hair smoother or stiffer, I can't see upgrading from my Ventum.

Good point. Unless it was given to me, I wouldn’t pay the money for that little of a difference.

Visually to me the rx7 is the best looking carbon they’ve made. I like the specs of the ultra, hate the price. Interesting how much they and Mathews are both really touting moving things in and centralizing accessories. I saw on AT people were saying 19-20 week wait time on orders!

I think the wait time was similar for my RX5 Ultra last year.

I shot the RX7 and RX7 Ultra last Friday. Draw cycle was sooo nice on the Ultra. They had one in Wilderness in stock. I own it now. Waiting on Hamskea to get an inline rest going, hopefully soon

I have shot primes and a couple bowtechs last several 6 years or so . I shoot the new bows from all manufacturers when they come out . None Really impress me year over year . I mean every 3 years , yes there are some good improvments . I shot the rx5 last yer and didnt like it at all. the ventum was much nicer , but my prime still beat it . This year I went and shot the rx7 ultra the day it came out . I just smiled ear to ear after one shot , and said SHIT ! Im buying one . First time in probably 10 years that I smiled after shooting a bow . I did shoot several others , the new ventum, the twin turbo, the Prime and the new pse levitate . I bought a rx7 ultra ! its smooth, DEAD in hand . Quiet . It was just enjoyable to shoot and felt great . I know its pricey , but this bow will be a keeper for a few years FO SHO . You have to shoot one to feel for your self . Im a big believer in letting the bow pick you ! And after I get it set up right with all the in line system bull shit , I think I can save some weight , and have a really well balanced great shooting bow .

And yes I asked for a discount cuz Im a good customer and support them 100 percent . So they made it easier on me. Which is why people should go to local pro shops and support local business. If possible . Too many people want to save 1 dollar and buy shit online. Then complain when they get no help or service .

I never understood the appeal of the carbon hours when the aluminums are very nice
Honestly I think the carbon craze is silly but…. I shot the ventum33 and the rx7 ultra yesterday and the ultra is far smoother and felt far better to me. The ultra IMO is one of the smoothest ow I’ve ever shot, and I’m very far from a Hoyt fan

I own an Rx4 ultra, and while I shoot it very very well, looking back I should've just purchased the aluminum bow. Who knows maybe the RX7 is really that much better but from what I have noticed shooting with one buddy who also owns a carbon hoyt and another buddy who owns the mathews atlas is our carbon bows are definitely louder. I would ask someone to shoot them in front of you to test the noise difference if you can. Just my 02 on hoyts and their spendy carbon bows.

Might be my draw length but the rx7 ultra I shot was 15fps slower than my CS34. Disappointing for a bow that is supposed to be 4fps faster. It is by far the smoothest, quietest, and most dead in hand bow I have ever shot though! 28.5” DL, 71lb, 255fps with a 493gr arrow. My CS34 at 73lb shoots the same arrow at 270 through the same chrono.

The Ventum pro 33 that I ended up leaving with is *almost* as smooth and clocked 273fps. The regular RX7 came in at 263fps but I don’t like short ata bows
