Howa Barreled Action for 6.5 PRC but LA?

Been looking at possibly buying one of the Barreled actions that Brownells carries from Howa.
The 6.5 PRC is what I would be looking at getting. But they show them as a Long Action.
IS the reasoning behind this to be able to seat the bullet out further?
I am no where near as knowledgeable as a lot on here. So trying to understand this better.

Yes that would be a benefit of it being in a long action. With that said, factory ammo is not seated long and will likely shoot fine in that set up.

I have one. Shoots great. I got the stainless steel barreled action and put it in a Bell and Carlson M40 Howa 1500 LA stock. Fed and shot the 147 ELDM ammo into a 3/4" 5 shot group on shots 3 to 7 from the new barrel with a 2866 fps average.
