I got a pair of La Sportiva Trango Tower GTX's a couple weeks ago and have been wearing them nearly every day since. I originally ordered size 45 and 45.5, and sent the 45s back as they felt too small. Now I'm wondering if I made a mistake, as I can occasionally feel my foot moving within the boot. How much movement in the boot do you allow for while still considering it a good fit?

To where you can walk down a 45 degree slope with 75lbs and not have you toes smashed up against the front. For me it’s just over 1cm. If your. It you’re not getting heel lift and hot spots on steep ascents your good.

"sounds like" you ordered them online ?? apparently that was a mistake ….. then wearing them outside ? mistake #2 unless you live in BFE there must be some kind of retail establishment ? If not and you're forced to continue buying online DO NOT wear them out of the house until you are absolutely sure - this is repeated numerous times in pretty much every "boot" or "footwear" thread on this forum, didn't you read some first ?

I buy all my boots online and order multiple sizes too. Most companies have 30 day returns and I test all of them off trail on the mountain, if sizing isn’t right I just clean them up and send them back. Never had an issue with returns.

Depending on the brand of boot most will let you exchange sizes if you contact them directly, La Sportiva def will.

IF that's the case they why did you switch brands ? staying with a boot brand and/or good fit for you is a mainstay of a lot of we "hard to fit" hunters, and why are you asking us what to do ?

I think you confused me with someone else brother.

Anyways.. I will say brand doesn’t matter, some boots by a certain company will fit great while another model in their lineup will not. Depends on use, terrain, season, conditions etc.
