How much pressure does it take to damage a rifle?

My question is, how many rounds and how over pressure do they have to be to damage an action? Specifically a t3x. I fired two reloads that had heavy bolt lift and there were very obvious ejector marks on the rim.

Sounds like your action is destroyed.... I'll give ya $100 for it... ;)

Just kidding. You should be just fine.
Good to know. I figured I'd be fine but I wanted to ask around. There was actually a tiny piece of brass that was stuck beside the ejector, keeping it from springing back out. I thought I screwed up royally. Tore the bolt down and looked it over. Action is still buttery smooth.

i have seen pictures and heard stories that you would think the action was totaled. other times it is totaled.

a guy down the road had a nice loading room and had something of a reputation. big shot.

he was showing off a 264 win mag [ big deal in arkansas] and at the first shot my bud said something was just not right. had a little hard bolt lift but he loaded another and fired. that time it was quite a show as fire flew and the rifle kicked real bad and he almost dropped it. he turned to my bud and says "boy i touched one off that time, he he he"

well the bolt was locked up. eventually they beat it open with a 2x4 and got the case out. an exam of left over rounds revealed he had loaded .270 bullets for the .264. remington should have gave him something for forcing those .270 bullets down a 264 barrel with no damage.

it was his loading room with the bullets in a plastic bin storage rack on the wall with bullets dumped in each bin that caused the mishap.
