Looking at ordering some gear for the first time from Blackovis, they have the Shipping Protection option, with the size of my order it's over $80, does anyone ever select and pay for that option?

I don’t see why one wouldn’t this day in age with shipments getting lost etc, cheap insurance.

I get it’s $80 for your order but how would you feel if your order never arrived and you were sol?

IMO, scammy. It's on BO to get my items to me that I paid for. A simple credit card dispute will quickly get your money back, in the event your items do not arrive. This has been discussed on this forum recently, might try and look for the thread.

How big is your order? I just bought a 50 dollar item and the protection was like a dollar.

I didnt pay it for my order. I used paypal, linked to a card so if it doesn't show up I will file a claim.

Pay via PayPal and you're covered if your stuff doesn't show up. Save $$.

That's a great idea...most credit cards seem to only cover you up to $500 per claim but looking at Paypal's website it says you're covered if the purchase never arrives or arrives damaged. I can't find any dollar limit on claims - can anyone chime in about this?

Dude...... You ordered a lot. I like it. I dont ever use that protection but then again when a package is delivered to my house no one is ever going to grab it off my porch. If you are in an area where there is easy access then I would think about it.

I always deselect that box, drives me nuts it's on by default. IMO it's a scam, as pointed out if I never receive stuff I ordered the payment providers are more than happy to take care of it if the company doesn't.

In my area we don't worry about package theft. Nice houses and neighbors and strangers driving around are noticed immediately, cameras all over the place. I've never had a package stolen, plus I track everything shipped and if I expect an expensive shipment on a particular day I make sure someone is home to bring it in right away (doesn't hurt that I remote work 99.99% of the time except when I'm in front of customers for a visit).
