Is the purchase of a spotting scope worth it for the second week of rifle, elk in the Shoshone area? I have used Leopold cascadese bino's: 10-42 for mulies. Wondering if caring the weight and the purchase cost would be worth it. Thanks for any input.

Are you going to be backpacking or other? You can rent a quality spotting scope for around $250, then decide if you "need" to purchase later.

South fork area. Dropping off with horses then pick up at the end of week.

Always looking for a trophy. But as the week progresses, like at the bar at closing time, expectations diminish. Lol just looking to score on a nice one. That pine bettle did beat the area up good. A lot is open that's why I was considering a it

After trophy quality especially in a draw unit then absolutely! OTC hunts where any branched antler is on the menu then rely on binos for most everything.
