Would it be possible to add a stove jack to the vestibule area of a tent, like a BIg Agnes UL scout, and let the heat radiate back into the sleeping area? How far from the walls does a titanium stove need to be in order to not damage the silnylon?

Not really far. The angle is more important than the distance from what I've found - because the heat from the stove rises of course - so as long as the heat isn't holding on a horizontal surface, you should be fine. Most stove jacks for titanium stoves (boots) are about the size of a sheet of paper. The goal is to center the pipe INCLUDING the angle of the tent wall. If it is only centered on the boot, then it might be within 2" of the tent wall on the downhill side. On most of the ones that I make, I put it about 1/3 of the way from the top. So I guess the short answer is, about 8" is ideal. That said I've cranked up my TiGoat stove in a silnylon tipi and the HOT pipe was probably only 6" inches away.

Since you're already cutting up your shelter, I might suggest something. Stoves really heat up small shelters to an uncomfortable level very quickly. You might consider adding a vent at the peak of our vestibule. That is, unless you already have that capability. Maybe 12" of #5 uretek coil zipper with a 2-way pull sewn in (with stops). Then just slice down the mouth of the zipper and you can vent a large portion of that incredible titanium stove heat.
