When the hell did they start loading this shit with gold dust ? 68 bucks for a box of 20 7rem mag shells ? Weatherby magnums are starting to look cheap. Shits dumb . Quit making 223 fmj and 9mm and turn back on the hunting dies for gods sake .

Frustrating for sure. I've seen it pop up online a couple times in the past year, but the price kept me from buying it. I'll wait until I'm completely out before I pay those kind of prices.

I havent looked for 7RM but just bought 5 boxes of 6.5 PRC at sportsmans for 53 per box. Hopefully we can get back to decent prices and actually having product on the shelves here this year.

Haha... funny story I have to tell here.

About 2005 I went into a gun store to buy some 7mm RM shells for an elk hunt I had coming up. This WAS the first time in 15 years I'd bought ammo for this rifle and my old box had a price tag of $11.99 on it (but was down to three shells). The guy put them on the counter and said, "that will be $38.00." I THEN said... "oh, I just want ONE box!" -- he didn't smile.

That was the DAY I pulled out my RCBS reloading rig dad bought me in 1977 (which I hadn't used since about 1982- girls and cars came along and it went in the closet). I had the dies and an old can or IMR4831 (price tag of $10.99 on it). The bullets I dug out were Sierra 160g BTHPs (price tag of $13.99) and the primers were like $1.99-- from about 1977 when I got it all for X-mas in a gun store in EL Paso, TX.

Dad's been gone 20 years, but of all the things he gave me, that reloading gear is what I remember him by every time I reload (often the last 15 years now).

I folded my wallet over two years ago... right after scoring 8 lbs each of RL-23 and RL-26 and a few bricks of CCI's for $32 each. Thankfully I have all I need for a lifetime of the shooting I do in pistol, shotgun and rifle (except for small pistol primers darnit!). One thing that helped is that I didn't keep "jones'ing" for the next big thing (after the pair of 260ia's and 6.5 Creedmore of course!) ;)

Hang in there, buy the minimum... and things will probably get (a little) better here in a bit.

Sportsman's Guide had them for $39.99 last week, that was a no brainer to jump on.
