Hornady lock n load kit and get loaded rebate

Hey all, wondering if anyone has any experience with the get loaded rebate Hornady is currently running and if that makes it worth getting into one of their kits. I’ve been kicking around getting into reloading and have looked at the Hornady kits, particularly the deluxe one, but the price and lukewarm reviews have held me off. But I think with the rebate they have now it would make sense to buy the kit to get started and use the rebate to offset the price. So I’m just wondering if anybody has any experience with either that would swing me one or or another. Thanks.

The Hornady rebate is 5 boxes of bullets free. It's a limited list of choices. Look at the list, check the price on those bullets, and then you could better determine if it is worth it to you. They have been running this promo for years. I have used it on a few sets of dies, and the ammo plant.

I bought a set of .223 dies under last year’s promotion. The packaging says “free bullets with purchase!” When I went to redeem that their website said sorry we’re no longer able to give away free bullets (that was a day after buying the dies).

I noticed that the current promotion is only for products purchased during 2023 so I guess everyone who bought beforehand with a promise of free bullets is out of luck?

I did it. They sent me a bunch of bullets and I have been plenty pleased with the press. I do have both auto feeders as well.

That is the same thing that I did when I got into reloading, bought the deluxe kit with the get loaded rebate and a couple sets of dies on the rebate as well. Depending on what you are wanting to reload for it's a great deal, but I got into reloading to load more accurate loads and better performing bullets. I now have about 600 30 cal interlocks that I have no need for because I load with a bullet with a different purpose. They make good plinking bullets or traditional hunting bullets but with todays standards for bullets mine just sit.

As for the press and the kit, I have been more than pleased with it and it has built me a great starting point to build off of.

I’m with @Wrench - my hornady press has loaded a lot of good ammo. I haven’t been able to bring myself to upgrade it, if I did, I would kick it down as a dedicated de-primer. Everything else that came in the kit I’ve upgraded though.
