Horn hunter full curl waistbelt mod.

So I have been thinking about switching the waist belt on my full curl system, I've seen a couple post about bikini , omni belts , seen the ilbe 2nd gen belt and was wondering if anybody has the frame or belt of the ILBE so I can get the measurements of the frame post, also open to suggestions , thanks

Also what difference is the belt going to do to help with minor ache on hip

I changed my to a molle 2 belt i cinched it down tight and rigged with some gorilla tape to attach it to the frame.

Iv been debating on other waist belts but im going to give the molle 2 a go first. I hunted two days with my stock setup and my hips hurt like hell after the second day, i thought it was just me.

Power Pulls and better padding distribution are a beautiful thing that increase comfort under heavy loads immensely Id highly recommend the Kifaru Belt and skip the ILBE Belt. The Kifaru belt or even the Hill People gear Prairie belt are going to make your hornhunter pack much more comfortable. Both are solid choices for the Horn hunter or to put on the ILBE Packs.

Thanks shtf, I noticed two black pieces on duplex belt , does the frame sit in those or are they just for protection ? The HH frame is just a tubular frame , I'm sure I could sew some pockets or sleeves for the tube ,

The black sleeve is for the frame to rest in yes. I'd check out the HPG Prairie belt it has its own stiff internal piece to support the belt unlike the Kifaru belt. It ain't cheap though at 90-100$ but worth the cost.

A nice guy here on rokslide sold me a used duplex belt that I replaced my stock full curl belt with. Night and day difference! The stock belt has way to stiff of foam. I tried a Molle ii belt which was better, but the Kifaru is by far the best. I did have to sew the delta straps some ladder locks to slide through on the packs side pieces. I also added another ladder lock under the existing shoulder strap. Redundant yes but I wanted everything to work correctly. It was all my old machine could do to go through all that material. Not the best sewing job but it works. I didn't extend the frame slot pouch and it has still worked just fine. I did wrap the frame with vet wrap so it does grab a bit more and I put on a OV mean pad also. Hopefully the pics show some of the mods.

Well I'm not sure, but rather than just cut it off I wanted it to work like a Kifaru system so that was the best I could come up with to utilize that strap and provide more lift to help the belt stay in position and not slip down under load. Good luck on you're mod, let us see what you end up with.

Kifaru shoulder straps fit a HH? Anybody everybody , I'm sure with enough sewing this could happen , or are the original straps fine , learning on proper pack fit but I have been running them bottomed out almost , original HH also I believe (no torso adjust)
