Holster For Smith and Wesson M&P 2.0 9mm

Picking up my first handgun in about a week. Got a M&P 2.0 in 9mm 4.25 inch version. Going to be using this mostly for backpacking protection. Any advice on holsters? I'm not sure if I should go chest or side. Open to options. I wear a bino harness if that helps. I'm sort of a little nervous of a chest harness since the muzzle might be pointing close to my chest or to an arm, or to another person. A side harness seems safer but it may be annoying with a pack on. If i have a harness on my pack, it won't be on me when I take the pack off.
