Hilleberg Soulo VS Hilleberg Unna??

How tall are you? Going to be using it late season with snow loading possible? Unna is a little longer, no vestibule and two poles. Soulo is a little shorter but three poles and the vestibule. Usually the vestibule is the deciding factor for most guys.

I was in the same boat as you and ended up going with the Soulo. The thing has a phenomenal track record for handling some crazy conditions. I also wanted a vestibule area to put my pack and boots and also to do my water boiling/cooking. I could have made the Unna work, but I'm sure it would have been dirty inside at times and I really despise dirt and mud near my sleeping bag and pad. The Soulo is stout and goes up quickly with very little practice. It's not the lightest solo shelter, but I have solid faith in the way thins thing is built and laid out to handle big winds off glaciers and snow loads.

Snowcamoman- is the Soulo long enough for a 6' person? Assuming an inflatable mattress and some loft on your sleeping bag? I'm considering it but worry about touching the ends. Thanks.

I'm a little over 6'3", and yes, I would prefer that the Soulo was the length of the Unna but it is doable for someone 6'. I know Aron uses a Soulo quite a bit and he's 6' or so. I'll have mine out this weekend so I'll give you a better idea if I can remember to snap some pics lol.

You'll definitely be touching the foot end with your sleep system. Cool thing is, you take the inner tent out and you have a four season bomber freestanding single wall with tons of room. You have any way to try a Soulo out?
