This rifle was originally purchased in the early 2000’s, probably around 2005 to be my wife’s hunting rifle. She took it once on an elk hunt back then, but then never again, kids became her life.
This year she wanted to hunt again now that the boys are older, so I upgraded and decked the rifle out to modern standards. But because of a car accident injuries to her shoulder and face in 2021, even this rifle is too much… so she’ll be using a 223 AR with TMK.
Rifle specs:
-Early 2000’s REM 700 BDL 243 1/9.25
-Barrel cut to 18” and threaded with 5/8 adapter
-Action, barrel and bolt tungsten cerakote
- Greyboe Fiberglass Stock with flush cups, pillars and Professionally Bedded
- Greyboe BDL bottom metal
- Gretan Bolt Shroud/Firing Pin/Spring upgrade (replaced factory key lock shroud)
- Timney trigger
- Stainless action screws
- DNZ Tactical (4 screw) 30mm 20 MOA ring/base
Rifle was built with the idea of a compact all weather hunter.
Round count is probably around 150 or maybe 200 tops. I developed a couple loads for it back in the day for the hunt, then the rifle sat in the safe until we took it out after all the work a couple weeks ago and shot 25 rounds.
All work was done by Phoenix Custom Rifles.
Slap on a can and scope and you’re ready to roll. Last pic just to show what it looks like set up - scope, can and thread protector not included (duh)…
$950 shipped to your FFL. Would trade for an optic.
