Help! Threading Possibilities For My Bergara .300WM?

Hello all!
I have just purchased my first .300 Win Mag rifle, the Bergara Mountain 2.0. However, it doesn’t come with a threaded barrel. I was planning to get it sent out for threading when it arrived with anticipation of putting a break on it. After some research and talking with “Muzzle Breaks and More”, I’m thinking the barrel isn’t big enough for even 1/2x28 threads. The muzzle is .526”. I attached the barrel spec sheet below. It is the “BPR18-300WME” under the “MOUNTAIN” section. I’ve seen a YouTuber, JE Wilds, run a suppressor on his Mountain 2.0 and has threads on his muzzle so I believe it’s possible! I added a photo of his rifle below and it clearly shows thread there but I wanted to hopefully get some insight and help here. I would really appreciate it! Thanks!

Worst case scenario you could run the Kimber size(7/16-28 I believe)
I was told that wasn’t ideal for .30 cal. Idk if that means dangerous or? I don’t want to blow the break off.

.526> .500. I think you are fine with 1/2-28. I had a 300 PRC Howa that was threaded 1/2-28 that worked great with my SilencerCo Omega on it. Give Long Rifles Inc a call and see what they think.

You could probably shave the barrel off a couple inches until you could get a 9/16X24 cut for it.
People say you have to shave off far too much barrel to get it to where you need. But I will definitely look into it!

I will contact silencer co and long rifles and see what they think. I’ve seen a fellow on YouTube, JE Wilds, with the same rifle and he runs a suppressor on his. I’m trying to get ahold of him to see how he has his set up. Muzzle breaks and more said I could probably do 7/16x28 but it’s not ideal for .30 cal. Not too sure.

Personally I wouldn't run the 7/16 thread on there... you will be at a .435 diameter minus another .015 on each side (.030 total) for the root of the threads. That would leave you around .050" of barrel wall thickness on each side once it is threaded...

If you just want a brake, take it to a good smith and have them build an integrated (non removable) one. That’s what I have in my Tikka.

Old thread, but wondering what the outcome was? I’ve got a mountain 2.0 also, it’s a tack driver but kicks like a mule. I’d love to get a brake installed too
