Help me rebuild my retired PRS rifle into something more useful.

So not just the throat, but the entire length of the bore? That's interesting.
It's not really relevant. The point of this thread is to help me decide how to turn a 20lb rifle into one that's not 20lb, and be useful in the process.

I’m doing a similar project right now, but I’m going to a 6mm ARC on a heavy chassis. Minimal recoil & noise, very long brass & barrel life, easy brass and component availability.

Best of all, I can shoot as fast as I want without frying my barrel & I can do my practice at 500 yards without going deep in the mountains to shoot out to 1000.

Kind of seems like another 6 creed really checks the boxes, other than nrl possibility. Basically build a lighter one.

90% of my eastern whitetail hunting is done with a throated 7mm-08, 18" Bartlein 3b, Defiance Classic, AG Privateer, Hawkins BDL or DBM, TBAC U7, and a Bushell LRHS 3-12. Weight is 9lbs all up.

I also have a 22" 6.5 CM, Apollo, Krieger RV, Hawkins DBM, Manners PH, Tract 4-25 ELR (pig), TBAC U7 or Hellfire. Weight is 12lb all up.

If that helps with your calcs.
