what gun would you take
Both rifles are custom builds
Built on the tikka action’s virtually identical guns and both rifles are very accurate out to 500 yds
1)6.5 PRC 140 accubonds at 3128 fps
2) 300 win mag 165 accubonds at 3200 fps
So what rifle would you take

What does each weigh? Which shoots better? Which do you have more confidence in? It’s looks like your 6.5 is a 26” barrel which is pretty long for “backcountry”. How far do you plan/need to shoot?

I have a 6.5 PRC and 300 RUM in the exact same build. Both shoot better than an inch group. That being said, no matter what I am hunting I tend to pick up the RUM.

I have both calibers and my PRC gets the nod almost every time. They are both very accurate, but I personally shoot the 6.5 better because of less recoil.

140 AB’s hit hard. I’ve killed bucks and bulls with them, hydrostatic shock is real. As long as the shot is good, it crumbles them DRT.

You don’t need a land cannon to kill a deer.
