Hello,

I'm new to this forum and thought I would introduce myself. My name is Josh, and have a beautiful wife and 1 year old daughter who I plan to bring up in the outdoors. I was born and raised in southeast Kansas and have been an outdoor enthusiast my entire life. I have hunted, fished, and trapped every type of game big and small that Kansas has to offer. Most of the big game hunting I've done has been from a ground blind or tree stand in the dense timber we have here in SE Kansas. I have just recently broadened my horizon to western big game and am excited to make this one of my passions. This past fall I was able to take my first mule deer and antelope in western KS and now I'm hooked. I look forward to sharing stories and knowledge with all of you!!!

Josh

Welcome Josh. Can't wait to hear some of those stories. Was stationed at Fort Riley for a couple years and Kansas found a little piece of my heart some amazing country out there far from flat and boring that most people think. Anyway enough rambling welcome aboard

Welcome! I lived in Lawrence, KS for 5 years, but have since moved back to Utah. I really enjoyed my time in Kansas despite not hunting out there.

I've hunted the pits/mined land between Pittsburg and Parsons my entire life. We farm 3,500 acres right in the middle of mined land south of McCune.

One of my best friends is from Parsons. I could never get used to how thick it is down in SE Kansas, I prefer the more open stuff further west. Welcome.

Welcome Josh! I'm from Topeka, KS. Now living up in Alaska. I'd be more than happy to talk gear with you anytime. I love sharing what I've learned living up here with folks from back home!

On a side note, any of you KS guys waterfowl hunt?? I come back once or twice a year. Once in November/December and then again at the beginning of March for snows. It'd be cool to connect with some of the rokslide guys for a hunt.

Can't shoot 'em where they ain't.

Shoot me a PM. I live in KC (but currently I'm in CA for several months) but get up to Alaska a couple times a year. Well be there in three weeks actually.

I do a lot of waterfowl hunting usually 2-3 times a week during season. Ducks and geese also kill a lot of snows in the spring. hit me up it you want to hunt together I have access to a lot of private ground.

Cool to see so many MO/KS guys on here. I concur KS is an often looked over gem. I find it and MO to absolutely rival in beauty many of the other places I've been albeit may be a little more crowded. I'm also just a few years into the waterfowl game and it bit me hard as well. I've got a good number of decoys/trailer and will travel :) Maybe a get together hunt is in order this fall?
