HBN bullet coating

Not personally, but one of my best friends swears by it. From my understanding, it reduced his velocity a little, but improved his ES & SD significantly.
I think I'm right in saying that he loads a little hotter than book (certainly in his 7mm SAUM) to compensate for the velocity loss.

I hope I'm remembering this correctly, by the way! I know we had a fairly long & involved conversation about it & I figured that for me personally, it wasn't worth doing. However, he's a far, far better marksman than I am!

I’ve been using it for the last four years. With the same powder charge you will get a slight drop in velocity but you can add powder and get a higher velocity than you can with an untreated bullet. ES and SD have both dropped for me. I can also go much longer between cleaning. It also seems to increase barrel life but that is so hard to quantify.

To add a little more. I shot 120 rounds through my factory TC Encore last Saturday without cleaning. I had no loss in accuracy.
