What are your thoughts on Hawkins featherweight rings/bases?

Looking at mounting a nightforce Nx8 4-32x50 on my tikka 7 PRC and thinking the medium rings should be good. But want to be sure they are going to be up for the job? Want to make sure they are heavy duty enough for a hefty scope like the nightforce

I’ve had them on more than a few rifles and am happy with them. That said, I never used them on anything over ~26oz. That 4-32 may be a bit more than that.

I picked up a pair to try on a Tikka after seeing this thread. They have an issue. The lug that can be used on the front ring for Tikkas doesn't allow the ring to sit flush. Either the lug is to long, the lug inlet on the action is to shallow, or the lug inlet on the ring is to shallow. They will sit flush without the lug.

As a follow up on this, I ended up filing one end of the lug until the base would sit flat. Degreased everything (again), painted threads, and mounted a S&B Klassic 1.5-6x42. Bedded the stock's recoil lug in a Stocky's sporter, gave it a couple days, then sighted in.

The rings are a really nice height for the sporter stock, lite/sl contour barrel, and 42mm obj scope. A 20" stainless superlite .350 Legend barreled action, factory bm/mag, Stocky's sporter, Hawkins FW's, and 1.5-6x42 Klassic comes in right around 6 lbs 10 oz. It will be a handy little woods package with very light recoil/blast.
